Civil War Tribute Block of the Month Program

The quilt features Marcus' CIVIL WAR TRIBUTE COLLECTION designed
by Judie Rothermel, coupled with Homestead Hearth's original quilt
design, based on classic quilt blocks and variations. The result is a
beautifully detailed quilt measuring a generous 100" x 112". The Civil
War Tribute quilt highlights a variety of sawtooth and star blocks, the
perfect showcase for 48 of the collection's 50 prints. Each of the quilt blocks
represents a major battle fought during the war.
The program will run January through December of 2010 and honors the upcoming 150 year Anniversary of the American Civil War. Go on-line to www.Marcusfabrics.com to see details about the program and view the fabric collection, which will blend beautifully with the shop’s 300+ bolts of 1800 reproduction fabrics The cost of the program is $23.95 per month.
The first meeting will be held on Saturday, January 9th from 10am to Noon.
The second Saturday of each month will be set aside from 10am to Noon for program participants to meet with Delphine and get tips on making the blocks plus a history lesson complete with antique blocks, fabrics and quilts!
American Beauty from Marti Michell & Maywood Studios

The queen-sized "American Beauty" is made with Marti Michell's new, gorgeous fabric line from Maywood Studio called "Wild Rose". There are 12 blocks with star sashing and borders. The finished quilt can be made with white or black borders - you choose! The cost for this program has changed to $15.99 from $19.99 per month for 12 months with a 10% discount if paid in full by January 12th. This price covers all the fabric and patterns needed for the quilt top. The quilt is constructed with rotary cutting templates, which are wonderful to use. The template sets are being offered at a 10% savings to program members. Delphine will host 3 meetings throughout the year to demo the template sets and block construction. The first meeting will be held on February 6 from 10am to Noon.

Buck a Block with Thangles
This Block of the Month program will produce 12 blocks that can be teamed with a finishing kit for a quilt that will measure 63” x 78”. The registration fee of $5.00 will cover the cost of the Thangles packet needed to make all the blocks. Jerri will demo using Thangles on Saturday, January 16th from 10am to 11:00am to kick off the program. The cost per month is $1.00 per block while the finishing kit (sashing, border and binding) will be $48.00 for the Civil War layout and $58 for the Batik layout. The Civil War layout is red, brown and blues, while the Batik layout is mainly blue, green and purple.
