ANNOUNCING!
*Starting in January – Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle Club

Meetings will be on the second Saturday from 10am to Noon - every other month starting with January 2011. There is a Club fee of $35.00 for all 6 meetings, which include 8 project patterns! The patterns are exclusive to shops hosting Prairie Women’s Sewing Circle Clubs. Fabric Kits from 1800’s reproductions will be available for the projects offered or you can select your own fabrics. Historical stories of what life was like from 1840 to 1900 will be shared. Delphine will be leading this group and looks forward to the small projects just perfect for gracing tabletops and walls. While life in the ‘olden days’ will be discussed please join us even if you choose to use modern fabrics for the projects.
*Sewing with Kathy
For some time now Kathy has had a project that she has wanted to work on (Dear Jane), but never seems to make the time for. For that reason she has decided that beginning in January, 2011 on the last Monday of each month she is going to be at the quilt shop and work on that project from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
If you are interested in joining her, Kathy would like for you to bring your project and work on it. There will be no fee due to no instruction being given, and lunch will be on your own. If you find that you cannot stay from 10 to 4, just come and sew for the length of time you are able."
*Starting in November – From Marti and Me Club w/Delphine
This is a 6-month program that uses the Tool of the Month for the From Marti and Me project patterns, which are exclusive to stores holding club meetings. The projects are generally wall hangings, table runners, etc., not full –size quilts, but may include full-size quilt options. Meetings will be held the first Wednesday of each month, once in the morning and again in the evening. The cost is $30.00, which includes your project pattern ($7.50 retail value)
*SECOND YEAR ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION*
The second year anniversary celebration will be held September 30th, October 1st and 2nd 2010 with extended hours, door prizes, edible treats and special pricing on selected items in addition to plenty of workers and an extra register to better serve you with. Details will be announced as we get closer to the weekend.
The Heart of the Pines Quilt Guild will be hosting a Quilt Show at Treetops that same weekend so it will be great time to visit Gaylord.
QUILTER'S RETREAT - November 12-13-14, 2010 - 9am Friday to 6pm Sunday
Regarding the 4th Quilter's Retreat at the Alpine Lodge of Gaylord The cost is $130.00 per person, based on double occupancy, 7 meals, & 2 nights lodging. Space is limited to 30 participants due to the size of the secure group set up area. Donna Cottrell, from Delphine's and Delphine will share the role of hostess with Sylvia, the owner of Alpine Lodge, who just happens to be a quilter. Delphine's will be providing door prizes and a demo or two. Call 989-732-2431 @ the Alpine Lodge, to place your reservations.

Half- Square Triangle Exchange: Several have signed up for this Exchange already and there is room for more. Matter of fact, there is unlimited space! Check out the web site for full details or stop by the store to see a great sample of a quilt made from half-square triangles by Terry Gravila. The book Friendship Triangles by Edita Sitar has many great patterns for quilts made from half square triangle units. Of course, the book is 20% off the MSRP when purchased at Delphine’s, as are all books!

Civil War Tribute Block of the Month meeting Saturday, September 11th from 10 am to 11:30am.
Pillowcase days are August 30th and September 27th. 92 pillowcases were delivered to Tendercare and another 20 are needed. There are 2 opportunities to attend, per day, 10am to Noon or 6 to 8pm! Kathy & Delphine are hosting these events and look forward to sharing the time with you for this great cause - 1 Million Pillowcases donated to charitable causes throughout the world in 2010! Stop by to sew a pillowcase. Thank you to all who have already dropped off finished pillowcases, donated fabric and made pillowcases in the classroom.
